The plight of the miserably successful

I started working with a new client last week.

On paper, he has a life that most people would be jealous of. He lives in Manhattan, has a great job (makes about 250K), a great marriage, and good friends. He’s already achieved many of his life goals and he’s only 31.

But on the inside, he’s not doing so well.

He wakes up every morning with a sense of dread, he’s consumed with negative thoughts, he feels chronically burned out and on edge, and can’t get himself out of bed without the help of prescription drugs.

Most people believe that once they achieve a certain level success, all of their problems will disappear and they’ll finally be happy.

But that’s not how it works. In fact, many highly successful people struggle with feelings of emptiness and despair.

If you want to be truly happy, then you’ll have to make some tweaks to your mindset. If not, then no matter what you end up achieving, you’re likely to feel that it’s never enough.

I’ll be talking more about this over the next few days. Stay tuned…
